FAQ’s

Q. What days/times do you offer appointments?
I currently offer appointments on weekdays and a very limited number of early evenings. There is some flexibility in this and I may be able to accommodate one-off appointments outside of my usual times: please contact me to discuss your requirements.

Q. How often will we meet?
If you are attending for therapy it is most likely that we will meet once a week, on the same day/time. It is possible to meet less frequently, depending on your needs and ability to attend.

Q. Where will the therapy take place?
At present I offer sessions at discreet and comfortable Rodney Street Therapies building in Liverpool City Centre. Appointments for Expert Witness and Court directed work may take place at another agreed location.

Q. How can I be reassured that my information will remain confidential?
I offer a confidential service. Our confidentiality agreement means that I would not share your personal information or your therapy details with anyone else. There are exceptions to this which include believing that you may be at risk to yourself or others, and any child protection concerns. I would endeavour to discuss this with you first, wherever possible. If you are being funded by your insurance company, they may request a report or information during your therapy. For a full list of exceptions to this rule please contact me, or we can discuss further at your first appointment.

Q. Are you the right psychologist/therapist for me?
Choosing the right therapist is a very personal choice and it is crucial you feel comfortable with the person you choose to engage in therapy with. All therapists should understand your need to make the best decision for you. I offer a free 15 minute phone or email consultation, to discuss your needs to aid in this process. It may be useful for you to contact a number of psychologists before deciding who you wish to work with.

Q. Do you keep notes about my therapy?
In accordance with good practice BPS and HCPC guidelines I keep brief notes of our sessions. These notes are stored securely, and I am registered with ICO (under the Data Protection Act) who regulates the storing of data. You can find out more about this
